Mission: Stars Around the Well
Location: Unknown Ship
Timeline: Current

ON:

Lanna nodded and followed on behind Fang. “Lieutenant, there’s something here that I can’t quite put my finger on. I can’t put it into words.”

Fang stopped. "What are you sensing.

Lanna paused giving Fang a frown. “It’s….as though we’re not alone here. Like there’s life energy, yet I’m not sensing life as we’d know it. It doesn’t make sense.”

"Keep your senses up and set your phaser to the highest stun setting."

Walking on with Fang, Lanna was feeling ever more drawn onward. She couldn’t explain why, all she knew was she had to keep following what she was sensing. She paused as she saw what appeared to be a shimmering ball of light in the distance. “Fang….” She pointed ahead. “Are you seeing what I’m seeing?”

Fang stopped looking over at Lanna. "I don't see...."

Moments later the ball of light moved rapidly toward them, swirling around Lanna before suddenly entering her body. She gasped before a calm, serene, look crossed her features, her eyes changing colour to a violet hue as she looked towards Fang.

Fang jumped back. "Counselor?"

She shook her head. “Oh she’s not here right now” The voice was Lanna’s, but the person speaking definitely wasn’t Lanna. “Well she is, but she isn’t. She’s tucked away in here…” she tapped her head. “I’m here now.”

Fang thumbed the phaser to stun. "Who are you? What do you want?"

Lanna, or rather than entity inside her, looked at the phaser then at Fang. “Oh there’s no need for that, you’d only hurt your dear Counsellor anyway.” She looked around. “It’s been a while since I had a body, I’d forgotten what it was like.” She frowned, “So confining, and so… weak.” She looked back at Fang. “Now what do I want? What is it you want Lieutenant?”

"We're...looking for survivors." He still kept his hand on the phaser.

There was a laugh, but not for long. "Survivors? you expect to find survivors?" she smiled. "I guess you could say you've found one, of sorts, but to talk to you we...I...need a host. It's been so long since I had a descent conversation." She paused. "So what now Lieutenant? are you going to shoot me?"

He sighed. "Well not .."

Before he could finish two bodies came running up. "Commander...."

Fang help up a hand. "Easy, Vince, Walker."

Sabastian who'd been wearing an inhibitor looked up. "Counselor?"

"Not the counselor. The ... entity was just going to introduce themselves. "I'm Commander Lee, these are my crew members Walker and Adams...and you are?"

“Does it matter?” Lanna paused. “Ohh it appears it does, or so your Counsellor tells me. Call me whatever you wish, designations are not required amongst those of my kind, we do not possess physical form only energy.”

"Why did you take our counselor, " Fang said. Vance and Sab moved on either side of Fang.

Sab looked at the counselor. "Is she alright?" he asked the entity.

Lanna nodded. "Your Counsellor is fine, she and I have much in common." She paused. "Perhaps I should let her explain." she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again. "Lieutenant" this time it was Lanna speaking. "I'm okay, this...entity needs to tell the story of it's people before it's too late.." she stopped speaking as the entity resumed control. "Now do you believe me?"

Fang flinched. "Believe yes but still...okay we don't have a lot of time here. If we carry the story of what happened will you release our counselor?"

There was a pause before Lanna nodded. “I will, your Counsellor has been learning much in this short duration, but I do not need to remain in her body to show more.”

There was a pause before the entities energy departed Lanna’s body, the effect causing Lanna to momentarily stumble though she remained on her feet. “Wow… that was intense.” She offered Fang a brief smile. “They said, we need to go in there..” she pointed to a doorway ahead. “I think I can access records in there.”

Fang gave a nod. "Walker, go with her. Vince, you're with me."

Sab looked over the counselor offering her his arm. "Counselor."

Lanna offered a warm smile as she took Sab’s arm. “Thank you.” Walking onward she cautiously walked up to the door she’d pointed at before it opened of its own accord. “Looks like we’re allowed entry. From what my… guest, showed me there should be their version of data crystals in here. They contain the records of what happened here.”

"And that guest," Sab said, "is why I wear an inhibitor when on away missions. Are there any trips or traps when removing the crystals?"

“I have an access code” Lanna offered a smile. “I’m afraid an inhibitor is something I only wear when absolutely necessary, my senses come in handy on missions plus I can’t stand being without them.” She walked over to what looked like a computer interface. “If I type in the code it should open access to the compartment holding the data crystals.” She brushed off some dust and debris as the console gave a faint glow. “Here goes nothing…” typing in what she could remember she smiled as a lower compartment dropped open. “Voila!”

He smiled, "Excellent. My turn." He dropped under the panel and began slowly removing the crystals. He swore violently after a beat. "Um...Counselor."

Lanna moved closer crouching down to take a look. “What is it? What’s wrong?”

"Trap. Counselor get out of here. I'll be right behind you."

When she was running he finished up pulling the last of the chips out and stuffing it into the bag. He ran right behind her and as the door opened an overload surge shot from the panel hitting him square in the back. Sabastian cried out slamming into the wall just ahead of Fang head first.

"Walker!" Fang ran to him. He dropped down by his side. "Walker!"

Sab groaned. "We gotta go...ship's booby-trapped. Traps springing...run."

Fang swore in Capellan. "Counselor," He tossed her the bag. "Let's go to the shuttle." He hefted Sab to his feet and they hurried along.

Lanna looked shocked. “They didn’t warn me about any traps!” She quickly headed for the shuttle, hoping Sab would be okay.

{ Shuttle }

Vance entered the shuttle. "Hello a..." He looked at Jynx. "Stowaway I see."

Adrianna nodded, "remember when I took those children to Starfleet and you waited around for me? She was one of those children. It feels like déjà vu." Adrianna subtly reached out to him and smiled, "I'm not abandoning you this time. Promise."

He smiled and squeezed her hand back. "Doc....the counselor was possessed by something. She seems okay now but..."

“Not a good away mission without a possession, I always say,” McDonald quipped as he kept an eye on his current patient. “All the more reason, I dare say, for us to be ready to make a sharp exit, hm?”

Adrianna nodded in agreement of the sharp exit comment. "Did you manage to salvage everything that you needed for us to limp home?" She asked.

"Lee to McDonald. Lee to McDonald! We have a man down coming in fast. Vance get the shuttle ready to jet, NOW. ETA five minutes to your location."

Vance moved with speed taking the pilot's chair. He did the preflight checks in record time, knowing which ones to skip.

"Never mind, question for later, amore mio," Adrianna nodded, heading to the door so that she could just shut it behind everyone and they could go.

Five minutes to the dot Lanna came running in followed by Fang dragging a wounded Sab behind him. "Close the door let's go go! Shields to max as we exit."

Vance powered up the shuttle.

Adrianna slammed her hand against the panel shutting the doors and stepping over to try and help where she could.

Sabastian moaned.

Fang called out. "Doc! He was hit with some sort of trap. Burns to the back and a hit to the head."

“Set him down over here,” McDonald instructed, “and then I need as much space to work as possible. Don’t worry Mr. Walker, you’ll be right as rain in no time.”

Fang moved to set him down. He helped the counselor to a seat and then joined Vance.

Walker smiled a little at the Doc and then winced. "H...hanging in there."

The shuttle lifted and within a few moments they were clear. "Shields up, the Arcadia is coming to intercept they found a way home."
