Stars Around the Well
Location: Main Engineering, CEO Office | USS Arcadia
Adrianna hadn't so much been shaken by Jason, but she had spotted an unexpected behaviour in the man that had sparked a concern. She stepped into engineering and sought out Fang. She was somewhat amused at the engineers still quaking a little further to the incident with Zai's pendant, but she was focused.
Spotting Fang, she tapped his arm, her voice professional but cold, "can I have a word, lieutenant?" It wasn't so much a question as it was a demand, though it was poised as such, "K'var is on their way too."
Fang studied her. "Sure." He pointed to the right. "My office." He turned to John. "John grab Anabelle and finish this scan. Once it's done I need a hold on this section."
"Full shut down boss?"
"Yes, about a half hour then start up again and do another scan. If there is even a point five variance I want to know about it. We can use it to get this damned proto type off my ship."
John snorted. "Yeah, only cause the Base Engineer insisted it be installed."
"No because it could mess up my engines. Also get Frankie on the poop shoots, some of the um...waste floating around has been letting itself be known on a few decks and I have a feeling if it gets worse we'll be swimming in poop."
John groaned and looked at Adrianna, "See we get all the fun things here."
Fang sighed. "Ignore him, follow me." He put an arm around her. "So my dear sis. Let's go. Want coffee? I just brewed a pot, none of that computer crap."
"Si, please. Coffee may help," Adrianna followed him, subtly brushing off his arm, "I'm actually here for a professional matter and I need you to bite your tongue in terms of brotherly duties. Am I clear?"
His eyes narrowed. "Define bite tongue cause...something doesn't smell right and it isn't the poop shoots."
"Merde, Fang, I mean you need to put personal feelings aside and be a first officer, not my brother," she replied, "I am aware that you are not the best at doing such a thing, but I need you as my First Officer, right now. Clear?"
He gave a nod. "Okay." He sighed. "I promise."
He looked up just as Frankie was hurrying in. "Hey Frankie talk to John I have an assignment."
Frankie gave a nod. "Poop shoots, I just fixed them. I'm off, my brother needs me on the station."
"You have a brother?"
"Half brother, can I have a day?"
Fang waved. "Take it while you can buddy."
He lead her into his office and motioned for the chair. "Sugar? Milk in the coffee?"
"Nothing," she replied, "just as it comes. Thank you."
“Greetings” K’Var entered with a smile and a nod.
"Thank you, both," Adrianna nodded, "I apologise for the unexpected meeting. I would like to raise some concerns about the mental health of a crew member. Whilst I will not be pressing charges, I would like to recommend that he gets the help he needs." She kept it matter of fact, rather professional.
"Last night at 2200 hours, Lieutenant Jason Frankley showed up to my quarters. He was clearly inebriated and not in his right mind. I appreciate the causation, however, from a personal point of view, this is not him. I would like to recommend that he is reviewed and that this incident is noted in case something like this arises again."
Adrianna reached over and pulled up the CCTV in her living room in her quarters. The woman held a poker face like her life depended on it.
“I agree” the security chief said firmly. “I’ll be sure to make a note in my security logs if the incident.”
"Grazie," Adrianna smiled, "as I said, I'm not pressing charges. This was just a heated moment fueled by alcohol."
Fang's left eye twitched. "Alcohol is no excuse." He looked at K'Var. "I'll be wanting you to have a word with him and I want a statement entered into the record. I will also note it on the XO report and since...he's one of yours." He said to K'Var "I assume you will be disciplining him? Strongly?" He saw Adri watching him, he was trying to remain calm since he felt like breaking the guy in half. Mr. Jason had just earned himself on the XO's growing shit list.
“Yes sir” the Caitian paused “I’ll be sure to take care of it and you are right alcohol is no excuse.”
Adrianna nodded, "the report from me has been written. I just wanted to speak to you both before submitting it. I appreciate your opinions on the matter-- however, I strongly feel that no further action should be taken. By all means, basic discipline, but nothing that will harm his career. This is an isolated incident."
"Thank you both for listening and taking my concerns onboard."
