Mission:
Stars Around the Well
Location: XO's Office | USS Arcadia
Timeline: Day 2 Travel
ON:
Adrianna made her way to the XOs office. She had an assumption about what it could be about: one of two things-- Zai or Jason. She prayed it was actually work related though. She saw the door open and rapped her knuckles on the door frame, "you wanted to see me, Lieutenant."
"Come on in. I wanted to update you on an incident on the ship."
She stepped in and watched the door shut behind her in her peripheral as she sat down in the chair opposite his desk, "alright."
"Engineering has completed the repairs on the wall outside your quarters and I was, through unearthly deductive powers, able to locate the culprit."
Adrianna nodded, remaining silent for a few moments, "I'm here because?"
"Let's review the video shall we?" He swiveled the desk screen towards her and played it.
Adrianna watched the video. She looked away a split second before the hit. "Si, I saw who did it. I chose not to make a big deal about it."
"And as an XO, I can't break every bone in his body but I can point out your error could have done damage. What if he'd been so angry that he'd hurt another crew member on his way away from your quarters?"
Adrianna took a breath, "his anger is focused. I am the focal point. The fact of the matter is that he didn't hurt anyone, did he? One panel does not equate to a person. Either way, Frankley came to me to apologise and attempt to talk. I just didn't give him the response he was expecting. He isn't a bad guy, Lieutenant. He's just going through things."
She paused, "XO or Fratello-- brother-- talking?"
"Both, a person could snap even if his anger is directed at one person. I need to know about stuff like this. As a brother I am fighting hard not to transport him into space."
Adrianna nodded, "I understand and will take it on board. Can I speak to my XO?" She didn't wait for a response. She ran a hand through her hair, "I'm beginning to regret not agreeing to you transferring him. I want to just make it through this mission, I cannot see it being a long one, and then I want him gone. He needs help. Real help."
"I agree. I can understand him not wanting to give up but I'd say buy flowers, write love poetry walk around the ship dressed as cupid with a diaper but not what he's been doing." Fang blushed. "Not that I’ve been any better with respect to Zai." He sighed. "But I will file the paperwork and get things started. I'll also have a conversation with the Tact Chief we had some brilliant applications in that department and engineering. He sighed. Zai's been pushing this Engineer it's driving me mad but fine I'll look at Tact candidates for replacements too."
Adrianna nodded, "if you need me to do any real checks, I still have some push with intel," she sighed, "you'd think we should not be looking for replacements so soon into a mission. My brother messaged me the other day, he wanted me to transfer to his ship. It's his first time as captain. I said 'hell no'. But I did give him a few names."
Fang got a look in his eye. "Ohhhh give me your brother's information. I have a transfer for him."
"Giovanni Baciami," she nodded, "there are four of us in Starfleet. Funnily enough, all in a form of security. The rest work in the family business."
"Excellent." He had an evil smile.
"Giovanni is my oldest brother," she replied, "the head of my family in my father's absence and when my father inevitably passes. You're going to send Jason there aren't you?".
He smiled. "Pffft I haven't decided just yet."
"Just don't send him the footage," she groaned, "Jason is being a cazzone but he doesn't deserve torture or death. Just a wake up call and psychological help."
"Giovanni is a Captain. They all take psychology classes. He'll get help."
Adrianna grumbled, "he'd kill me if he found out that I didn't tell him."
"No he won't. I'd stand in the way. Besides he'd be too busy with Jason."
"Gawd, I want all this to be over," she sighed, "I was never over the guy I was mourning. I never should have started something without knowing for sure that I was ready. I'd fooled myself into believing that I was ready. I hurt Jason because of it. Now I've made it so that Jason will lose his career."
"Oh he will not. He'll probably have to do a lot of grunt work and potato pealing. But all good. As for moving on when you're not ready we all want to be Happy Adrianna. There is nothing wrong with that."
She smiled, "perhaps one day, I will believe you. Until then, the man I am still in love with, is on shore leave and I cannot seem to get a hold of him. Still, I hope he is finding some peace on Betazed, gawd knows he needs a vacation." She took a breath, "if you want a replacement for Jason, do not bring my brother Franco on board. I will personally kill you."
He laughed. "Noted." He sighed. "No I have to figure out why Zai wants to bring this damned Engineer aboard. Good Record but nothing brilliant. More like knows how to patch things up in a hurry."
"He must have something going for him," Adrianna replied, "favour for Sabastian perhaps? I mean, if it is, maybe they'll know the upgrades better than anyone else, so it may be worth having them on board."
"I've got to look into it." He laughed. "XO problems...speaking of which I had a brilliant idea for all the department heads."
"If the next words out of your mouth are anything along the lines of 'Team Building', I will reach over this desk and tear out your tongue," she grinned.
"Ohhh good idea but no. It has been pointed out to me that I still have a few courses to complete to be an XO and part of that will be learning each department so...each of the department heads will have a take your XO to work day."
"I take it back," she chuckled, "bring back team building."
He laughed. "Is that your way of volunteering first?"
Adrianna started spewing off in her native tongue some derogatory comments about 'take your idiot to work day'. After what may have been five minutes she finally said, "fine. Just make sure that you go to McDonald after me."
He laughed. "Well we'll have a department head meeting and then ya'll can sign up for a turn." He grinned. He sighed. "I have never been so tired. There is ... a lot to learn."
"Sign up?" She asked, "if you give us the option, we will not do it, fratello."
