| Physical Description | Long black hair that is half way down his back. Zai has lavender eyes and full lips. He has a long sharp nose and a tattoo on his left peck that is a memorial to the brothers he lost on the last Federation war as well as a way for those who were part of the Klingon War special unit to recognize one another as brothers in battle. The tattoo is a large circle of vines and within it are four animals representing the elements around a yin yang symbol. | Personal History | Zai was born as Fifth Prince Xingtian on Capella in 2327 during the great festival of the Gods of the Underworld. An omen that his family took to mean he was to be a great healer or leader to his people. His brothers resented him as their father had named him the next great chief of their tribe even though he was fifth born. As a child he was sickly suffering from stomach ailments and he was teased without mercy and bullied by his brothers and even some of the tribe people. Xingtian always had a kind and loving temperament and endured. Finally he reached a point where he could not handle it and at the age of 11 he ran away with the goal of living a peaceful life on his own. During his time in the great Capellan forest he fell into a cave and would have died if he wasn't saved by Prince Ainar the seventh son of the first tribe. Ainar had run away from his tribe for similar reasons and was in the forest when he heard the howling of the Takari beast a wolf like creature. His one ability that he was born with was a gift to communicate with these creatures. He came upon Xingtian and saved him. He spent several weeks bringing him back to health and the two became friends. Xingtian gave him the nickname Fang due to his ability to communicate with the Takari. They lived in the forest for 2 years until Xingtian learned that his mother was ill. He rushed back to check on her and Fang headed back to his tribe to check on things here. They agreed to meet at the first city in five days time. Just as they got back to their tribes a war broke out involving all of Capella. The two were separated and trapped in their homes by circumstances. During his time back Fang managed to figure out a way for him and his friend to survive. He made a deal with a Lieutenant to sneak him and Xingtian on a Federation shuttle so they could leave the strife and conflict. The Lt. Carried Prince Ainar's message to the 11th tribe and to Prince Xingtian. They were set to meet at the launch site. Ainar arrived first and the Lt. snuck him aboard. He then left to pick up Xingtian but was wounded by a stray arrow. Xingtian, himself, was wounded and arrived just as the shuttle was taking off. Thinking his friend had abandoned him he returned home angry and heartbroken. The war was long and the anger at Ainar's betrayal and the losses in his tribe simmered. Eventually he escaped Capella just before his 17th birthday and headed to Earth to get his revenge on his former friend Fang. He and some of his personal guard found Fang on Earth in Starfleet. Xingtian enrolled as well as Zai, a Capellan refugee all a part of his plan for revenge on Fang. He never revealed who he was and worked to gain Fangs trust so that he could avenge family and his friend's betrayal. Things do not always go according to plan though.... Fang and Zai were destined to be in one another's lives and Revenge became...a complicated matter. Zai followed Fangs footsteps from Academy to ship to ship and finally to Arcadia where he'd decided he would finish his plan. With all the years together one wonders if Zai still had the heart for revenge or if Starfleet and all their morals and ideals had changed the core of who Zai had been when he left Capella. Interesting Facts 1. Xingtian renamed himself Zai (Capellan Word Meaning Little Moon) as a tribute to Ainar, the Seventh Prince. It was Ainar who called Xingtian this when they were looking up at the moon one night when they lived in the forest during the Festival of Hosts a Halloween Like holiday to remember the dead. 2. The Neyaku - A soulmate - Imzadi to the Betazoids. Amongst Zai's people the Neyaku is considered the missing part of your soul and a Soul Reader will judge if you've found yoru Nayaku. To unite (physically) with your Neyaku is to undergo metamorphosis. A change where the Eleventh Tribe member's hair turns silver white and their eyes shift from Lavender to Deep purple. The partner (no mater from where) will also change. Their hair will turn indigo black and eyes will get a glow. Both partners will appear younger by 5-10 years. If the metamorphosis is not triggered by a certain age the member of the tribe will age rapidly and die. |
