Finally, Adrianna stood before Vance. She was nervous, and yet this was the most right thing she'd ever done in her life. She reached out and held his hand, her hand trembling slightly. All the years of being separated and to be immersed in secrets, now the truth was out, and they were together. She offered a smile to Vance, and whispered, "didn't think I'd see you in a suit again. I hope you got my letter."

He grinned his eyes suspiciously shiny. "3 Seconds and then 5 seconds."

Adrianna looked confused, but smiled, squeezing his hand a little and taking a breath, "take a breath, amore mio. No need to count."

He laughed. "No I mean it took you five seconds more to get down to me...that's kind of why I ran to meet you part way." He held her hand. "It took 3 seconds when I laid eyes on you to fall in love." He blinked back tears. "It's going to take 2 seconds for your brothers to never let me live down the fact that I'm crying like a baby."

Adrianna blinked at the admittance. "Well, in my defense, I didn't think my father would want to say one final thing to me before we got to the aisle."

A smile formed on her lips that was more than her amusement. Her eyes went a little wet, "be grateful-- I've never cried in front of them." She looked up to the sky, trying to blink away tears, "I'm sure they'll bully me more than you."

"Well, shall we get started?" The priest smiled.

Vance grinned. "Right! Do your thing." He said to the priest loudly.

Adrianna couldn't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm. She focused on what the priest was saying, but her gaze remained on Vance.

***A few hours later***

The wedding had gone to plan. It was simple and beautiful, elegant in all the ways that mattered. Adrianna had barely said anything to Vance other than vows. But now, they had a moment together, no one watching them closely, no one to interrupt and tell them what a wonderful day it had been.

The night had settled in, and yet was still young in terms of the festivities. The music and alcohol was in full swing, but Adrianna had excused herself for five minutes to process everything. She leaned on a strut of a pergola, smiling as she watched her family and friends dancing, laughing, talking. It was wonderful. She didn't think she'd get to this point, and certainly not with Vance.

Vance had just managed to get away from the in-laws who were introducing him to everyone personally and he'd been peppered with questions. He looked for Adri and found her leaning on the pergola. "Penny for your thoughts?"

Adrianna almost jumped out of her skin, having been so unfocused on reality. She looked up at Vance and smiled, "only a penny?"

She chuckled and reached out to him, holding his hand, her gaze was one of complete love, "I'm just thinking about how I never thought this would happen. You remember when I volunteered to take those children back to Fleet and I was gone for almost 2 months? I came here."

She paused, "I had found the ring in your quarters and I knew I wanted nothing else, even if it meant staying trapped in the lie about my identity. I came here and said goodbye to my family. Told them I had fallen in love with a captain and wouldn't be able to tell them when I'd be back. They all assumed it was because I was posted on an exploration ship. They thought I was security, not intel. Only Giovanni knew. Of course, it wasn't meant to happen-- you wanted one last run. But now-- look at us, amore mio. You are now my husband-- no secrets. I must say, the idea of retiring on a planet immediately somewhere still sounds good though. Maybe one day, hm?"

"Whenever you are ready I will follow my love, on another planet or here. The choice is yours." Vance smiled as he wrapped his arms around her.

Adrianna hugged him back, but then gazed up at him, "would you have changed anything? Knowing what you know now."

"My amnesia and all the time I lost with you. I wouldn't change anything about us." It was an honest answer.

Adrianna nodded her understanding, "well, I regret not telling you about me-- I had enough opportunities. Perhaps it would have ended without the amnesia and time gap." She put her hands on his shoulders, "I think we have maybe one or two more dances until your seconds before us retiring for the evening come to an end-- oh, I almost forgot: you said you had agreed with my brother something about a space pirate tradition. What do you have planned? I have been bracing myself for chaos."

He waved it off. "No chaos. Plus your brothers have left. Your parents have been introducing me to everyone and then when I went to look for them they were gone."

Adrianna raised an eyebrow, not quite believing, "mhmm... Ok..." She paused, "so... One more dance, my husband?"

He sighed. "I suppose so. After which we can say our farewells and go?"

Adrianna nodded, "si, I think so. I don't want to be too tired." She chuckled.

The accounted announced that this would be the couple's last dance and that they would retire after and the crowd seemed content to watching the dance. Vance and Adri had the floor to themselves. The music started nice and slow and Vance held her. He looked her in the eye, his shining with love and a hint of mischief. "Did you have fun today?"

"Fun wouldn't be my choice of words," she smiled, "I don't like being in the lemon-light. But I loved today. What about you?" She asked the question, trying to stop the questions forming on her lips regarding why he looked like he had something mischievous planned.

"It was the perfect day. I did miss having my sister here but I know she is off doing what she loves."

"I'm sure that she was with us in spirit. I think she eventually approved of me," Adrianna smiled

Just as she finished responding a low hum began. Without warning a shuttle dropped just above the bride. The guests were in a panic as several shapes transported around the bride and groom.

Adrianna looked around, a little panicked at first, but then she saw it. All of her brothers... Dressed as pirates. She put her hands over her mouth. She wasn't sure if it was just shock, amusement or mortification. Adrianna mock glared at Vance, "what is this?"

"You be a pirate bride now." Vance grabbed the pirate hat Gio tossed him and a small device. He put his arms around her waist and tossed her over his shoulder. "Honeymoon, Away!" He pressed button and they transported away from the wedding and into a rather unusually decorated shuttle. Vance had to admit her brothers did a great job on the decoration.

Adrianna screamed, beating his back lightly trying to get him to put her down, "what the hell, Vance! Put me down, you idiota! Madonna!" She was chuckling hard though, the amusement in what was going on absolutely clear. Her family had planned everything, she was hoping something would be more them, and evidently Vance had a plan-- as if she had ever doubted him.

Adrianna calmed as she realized they were alone on the shuttle, "what is this, Vance?"

He grinned "A honeymoon amongst the stars. We're going to crawl to the lunar orbit and loop around Earth and the moon and then back to base before the ship leaves dock." He paused. "You married a space pirate." He laughed. "Arg." He said in a deadpan voice.

She gazed into his eyes, silent at first, processing what he had said. After a minute she finally nodded, "and I couldn't think of a better honeymoon idea, nor want a better husband." She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. She then paused, "oh, but one thing: I know that I said that I wanted to catch up on sleep on our honeymoon-- but I'm not tired yet. Want to go cause some havoc?"
